His journey so far at Everton

Now that the news of Sandro Ramírez’ exit is confirmed, let’s talk about his journey so far at Everton. It was Ronald Koeman, the former Toffees Boss who was behind the arrival of the 23 year old striker at the club. He had already scored 14 goals for Malaga and Everton had very high hopes from him. However, Sandro didn’t adjust very well to the life at Everton after his costly transfer amounting to £ 5.2 million. The only goal that he scored for the Toffees was in their 1-5 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League, under the guidance of David Unsworth.

Later on, when Sam Allardyce came on board as the new manager, Sandro had to leave for Sevilla on loan, in January 2018. However, he failed to score even once despite having made 13 La Liga appearances. With Marco Silva’s arrival at Everton, Sandro was once again sent out on loan, this time to Real Sociedad. But his terrible form continued and he still failed to score a goal despite making 24 appearances for the Spanish club.

Everton managed eighth position in the English Premier League table last season and it was pretty clear that Silva doesn’t view Sandro as a striker capable of scoring 20 goals in a season, and hence this time he’s being loaned out to Real Valladolid.

The Blues are hopeful of a revival

The Blues are hoping that some encouraging words from the majority stakeholder and two-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, might help the former Barcelona striker to find his winning touch again. Sandro has two more years to go with Everton and it hasn’t been revealed if the current deal includes the option of buying the striker.

Desperate for more number of goals in the next season, Marco Silva is hoping for Everton to somehow persuade Lyon to send their forward Bertrand Traore to the club. The Chelsea academy graduate scored an impressive 11 goals across different competitions for the French side last season. Going by some reports coming from France, the two clubs are already in talks. Silva is keenly looking forward to the versatile player who is capable of playing in the midfield as well as from the wing, but it’s pretty clear that Lyon will not let him go cheaply. They signed the Burkina Faso international for a sum of £ 8.8 million in 2017.
