West Ham United target freebie Sylvain Distin

West Ham United are looking to sign Sylvain Distin on a free transfer from Everton if other targets fail to materialise according to the Daily Mail transfer centre.

The report states that Distin is out of contract at the end of the season and that West Ham could push for a short term deal, although the player may want an 18 month contract.

The 37 year old Frenchman has had limited playing time this season with the emergence of John Stones and Phil Jagielka as a first choice pairing and has rumoured to be unhappy in the Everton dressing room
