Unsworth: I rate Browning highly as a player and a man

Everton under 21 coach David Unsworth has been full of praise about Tyias Browning after the youngster pleaded to be allowed to return to training earlier than the rest of the first team squad.

Browning wanted to get back training earlier to push for a place in the first team and wanted to be allowed to travel with the under 21 squad to Austria.

“It’s all down to Tyias and that’s the measure of the man,” Unsworth explained to evertontv. “At the end of the season he asked the manager for permission, he asked me if it would be okay and we’re delighted to have him here.

“He’s an unbelievable character and a terrific young professional.

“Everybody knows how highly I rate him as a player, but I probably rate him even higher as a man because his desire and determination for this football club and the badge that we all wear is second to none.

“It’s testimony to him that he’s here. He’s going to have a good week with us and when he goes back, he’ll be flying.”
