Stones: Distin and Jagielka are crucial to my learning
Young Everton centre-back John Stones is loving being around the first eleven at the club and says that game time is key to his development as a future England defender.
Barnsley born Stones has proved an able deputy when called on for an Everton back-line that has been blighted by injuries and on the whole Stones has performed beyond his years as the 19 year old continues to make a mark on the game.
Stones says that team mates Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka have been key to his development, even though they are rivals for the position.
“Game time is key for me and I’m just enjoying every minute of it,” he said in an exclusive interview with evertontv. “To have the likes of Sylvain and Jags backing me up is an extra bonus.
“Jags is always texting me. Before the Arsenal game he text saying good luck.
“For me, it’s just about performing on the pitch while I get the chance and grabbing it with both hands, and it’s a big help having that support.
“It’s not just Jags, all the team have been 100 per cent behind me and I can’t ask for much more.
“We’re so together in that dressing room and I’m sure we’ll come back fighting and get a good win on Saturday.
“Cardiff are coming off the back of an important win but we’re looking to stand our ground at Goodison.
“It’s vital for us to get a good result against Cardiff and then move on to hopefully do the same against Swansea.”

Hey,if JS wants to grab stuff with both hands, perhaps El BOb will play him before Joel in future.
