    Stones: Our character is massive

    Everton defender John Stones has praised his sides character following their 1-1 draw with Premier League champions Manchester City.

    Stones impressed against the citizens and proved why he is so highly rated and says that the performance shows the character that they have in the dressing room.

    “Coming back into the game so quickly shows our character is massive.

    You could see it out there today – we weren’t going to lose, for the fans, for everyone.

    “I think the game the other night set us off on a run and I think we’ll do really well and set off on a run now and hopefully go to West Ham on Tuesday and get through to the next round.

    “I think we showed a lot of spirit and City saw that and didn’t play as well we’ve seen them do because of how we played.

    “I thought the goal that Naisy scored was what we deserved, but I thought we could have had a few more.”
