Spurs want Barkley done this week but are scrimping on the bid

Tottenham Hotspur want the signing of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley wrapped up this week before their preseason tour of the USA but will only offer half of Evertons asking price.

The England midfielder has stalled on signing a new contract leading many to believe he is pushing for a move to Spurs and he is rumoured to be Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino’s number one target.

Spurs have just sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City for close to £50m and have long been linked with England international Barkley, but chairman Daniel Levy is known to be a tightwad and is only offering Everton £25m despite the club wanting £50m.

Will Barkley leave Everton this summer?

    1. Are you joking, just because you ask for £50m it doesn’t make him worth it. I like him, but he’s yet to really kick on and is in the last year of his contract.

Levy’s not being tight here, at £25m he’s overpaying, he would be able to take him for free next year.

£50m is ridiculous money for a player in the last year. Let alone a risk like Barkley

    2. Spurs should just tell Barkley to stay out for another 10 months then he gets the £20m as a signing on fee. Why bother paying the middle man (i.e. the club)?

    3. Wait and take him a free. Looks like you Everton fans are become as obnoxious as chelski and citeeeee muppets. He ain’t worth nowhere near 50 million dream on
