    Reports: John Stones close to Man City move

    John Stones is on the verge of a move to Manchester City according to respected Spanish journalist Gerard Romero in an article for Spanish news outlet Sport.

    The Barnsley born lad is currently away on international duty for England at Euro 2016 but could be set to a move to city under new manager Pep Guardiola.

    According to the report Guardiola wants to pair Stones with Aymeric Laporte as he looks to shore up the City back-line.

    Stones was close to joining Chelsea last season and handed in a transfer request to try and force the move, but this was rejected by the club.

    There were reports last week that Everton would offer Stones a bumper new contract to fend off potential suitors.
