Dutch club Heerenveen insist they have not had any contact from a club wanting striker Alfred Finnbogason.
The 24-year-old front-man has impressed hugely in his debut season in Holland this term with 28 goals in 30 games for the Frisian club.
Now a number of Premier League clubs including Sunderland, Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham are all reported to have checked on him in recent weeks.
According to the Dutch media, Sunderland chief scout Bryan ‘Pop’ Robson was at the Amsterdam ArenA at the weekend to make a personal check on the young Icelander, and he saw him score in a 1-1 draw.
Heerenveen technical director Johan Hansma told Voetbal International: “We have not been contacted by any club yet for Alfred, but we understand he is in the spotlight.”
Everton were linked with the striker in early March and are understood to be in the market for a couple of strikers.
