Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic is only 50% certain that he will stay with Everton next season according to Croation Vecernji.hr
The Croatian gave a candid interview in which he said that he needed a mental rest this summer, he was looking forward to next season, Drenthe was rightly punished by David Moyes and that David Moyes was a great motivator and coach.
“I feel good, physically I’m ready, and that I was not going to score, is another thing. I Cannot wait for the new season, I really need a good mental break” said Jelavic
The reporter goes on to say that good teams on the continent are looking at the player and that Everton are after £8m and he is only 50/50 to stay.
“Moyes Is a great motivator, I believe that he will succeed at United. When we parted, it was very emotional. Some players were on the verge of tears, we were at the farewell dinner. United have the money, we lack, he will be able to bring the players he wants, and that he could not at Everton”
He recalls one of Moyes speeches: “ I remember a match with Tottenham. He went into the locker room and said: “Let’s show them what awaits them, for them there is currently no worse place in the world of Goodison”. He always had the right words, he knew what to say”.
“Moyes isn’t an arrogant guy. He has a joke, he’s a good tease. He only becomes arrogant if one of the players is clowning around. Dutchman Drenthe was severely punished several times because he was often late for training. At the end of it, he went too far, and chased out of the team”
