Mourinho hits back at Martinez, might offer £20m and a penny!
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at his Everton counterpart Roberto Martinez for complaining that they have launched a bid for his player publically, by saying that Everton have never said that the player isn’t for sale.
Mourinho was responding to comments made by Martinez in Singapore which said that Everton wouldn’t go public with any offer and the player was an Everton player; Full Stop.
Mourinho said: ‘At the moment they say: “We don’t accept this bid”. They don’t say: “We don’t accept bids; any bids”. While they say, “We don’t accept this bid” until September 1, we can improve the bid: £1 more, £10 more, we can improve the bid.
‘If one day Roberto Martinez or the chairman says: “He’s not for sale; we don’t accept any bid”, game over. So during this process, it’s clear, we don’t deny we made a bid for Stones. It means we are trying to buy.’
Should Stones stay at Everton for the foreseeable future?
