Mirallas: I am VERY confident we will do well this season
Everton winger Kevin Mirallas believes that the club will do very well this season but feels it has become a lot harder as there is now a top 10, rather than a top 4.
Mirallas also believes that the players will have learnt loads from last seasons failings and can push on this year and achieve their goals.
“We’ve spoken a lot about how we can work better to try and achieve our objectives,” said Mirallas. “It won’t be easy though, as instead of there being a top four it’s almost like we can talk about a top 10 currently.
“I’m really confident that we are good enough to do well. Of course the first game didn’t turn out how we’d wanted but it was the first game and there’s a long way to go.
“We know there are some tough games in the first seven or eight fixtures, but they will give us a chance to see where we are in comparison to last season.”
The Belgian winger insists that the players will have learnt a lot from last seasons failings.
“One or two things didn’t go well and we did not fulfil the ambitions of a side that had so much quality,” he added. “Since pre-season began there is a sense and desire amongst the group to prove that we are a side good enough for the top places, because we believe we have enough quality to be there.
“It’s not going to be easy but we are fortunate enough to have a lot of stability and a group of players that knows each other very well, and that makes me very confident.”
