Mirallas enjoying new life under the Koemans
Everton winger Kevin Mirallas is enjoying the start to Ronald Koemans Everton career and says that all the players are enjoying the training sessions.
Mirallas also revealed that there may be some friendly rivalry because of Koemans Barcelona connection because he is a Real Madrid fan.
“My family is from Barcelona – but I’m a Real Madrid fan! When I was a kid and we went to see my family in Barcelona we went to the Nou Camp and we saw all the trophies and there were lots of pictures of Ronald Koeman. There was one of his goal in the final against Sampdoria.
“It’s very important because he has a lot of experience, so it’s very good for the team because we have a lot of young players and they can benefit from that.
“I know how good a footballer he is. All the time, he likes to play football, with good control, good position, good passing. For me it’s great because I’m from Belgium, so it’s very close [to Holland], and we speak the same.”
“All the fans know the players and now they want to see the best manager for Everton,” he added. “Every player is excited.
“With the new manager, he is very determined and ambitious, the training sessions have been good and we’re all looking forward to what is to come in the season.
“All the fans are very excited because they know he was a very good player and now as a manager. I hope that it is a very good season for everyone.
“I know it’s important to the Club to go out and do well this season, to win games and to achieve something as a team. When a new manager comes in, everything is new so it’s very exciting because you have new players, and young players in the group.
“We’re all working as hard as we can in Austria. Every day I train hard for my family, for me, for the fans and I hope this season we will all be happy about what we are able to do on the pitch.”
