    Midfielder hunt heats up – worrying news for Evertonians

    The redtop sales machine is in full force at the moment and nearly every paper is trying to sell our best players, like every year.  The latest is the Express who are trying to flog McCarthy.

    Last week it was brought to the public attention that Manchester City were interested in Everton midfielder James McCarthy who is looking for a new contract at Everton.

    Spurs are also interested in the talented Republic of Ireland international and are rumoured to have bid £20m for the player and Manchester City are set to follow suit if reports can be believed.

    McCarthy is a fans favourite at Goodison Park and loves the club, but is seeking the contract upgrade that he was promised when he first joined the club.  So far there has been nothing forthcoming although we understand talks have begun.

    1. Give the lad a long and lucrative contract.If he goes Besic will be able to cover,but may spend a few matches in suspensions,until he learns to temper his enthusiasm. The two of them together though is a fearsome prospect.
