Everton youngster Conor McAleny has revealed that he broke his leg during Brentford’s 1-0 win over Walsall on Saturday.
The striker went down four minutes into the game that was won by Clayton Donaldson’s goal.
He wrote on Twitter: “Absolutely devastated about breaking my leg yesterday.. Never been this down in my life. No point dwellin on it now because thats football.
“And these things happen. I know for a fact i’ll come back a stronger person physically and mentally. Thanks for the kind words people x”
McAleny was a regular goal scorer for the under 21s last season, but with a host of striking options ahead him, a spell on loan was seen as his best route for progression.
The Huyton born youngster is now expected back at Finch Farm to begin his rehab.
Sorry to hear about the leg Connor just concentrate on footy in future and stay off the stage man! Sure youll be back soon we need your talent back at Finch Farm!
