    Martinez: Whoever is leaking McCarthy stories must have their reason

    Everton manager Roberto Martinez has hit back at all the stories that are being released on the potential transfer of James McCarthy and says that whoever is putting the stories out must have their reason.

    Martinez went on to say that he wants to build his team around McCarthy not sell him and that the Republic of Ireland International is a phenomenal asset.

    Martinez said: ‘James McCarthy is a story we keep hearing.

    ‘I can only guess where it’s coming from.

    ‘Whoever it is must have their reason.

    ‘James McCarthy is a phenomenal asset.

    ‘We spent a huge amount of money, we are building a team around him, he has a long contract and there is not a single issue.
    ‘For every Evertonian’s peace of mind, James McCarthy is at Everton, he’s an enormous asset and we’re going to build the future around him.’

    McCarthy cost £13million when signed from Wigan two years ago.

    1. Roberto it is not rocket science. Who gets a cut of ant fees? Who has a vested interest in securing a move?What is his agents name? I would get the legal department on to a clause that penalises these leeches if they do this kind of underhand business.
