Martinez: No rush to sign a goalkeeper
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has once again insisted that there is no rush to sign a new goalkeeper and will only sign one before Mondays transfer deadline if the right personality becomes available.
Everton only have 2 experienced goalkeepers and number one Tim Howard is out injured leaving his deputy Joel Robles as they only fit first team goalkeepers with Martinez relying on academy keeper Russell Griffiths for the number 2 slot.
“The situation hasn’t changed,” Martinez said.
“Tim Howard will be out for the period I expected but I will always keep an eye open to see if we need to do anything.
“We only have two goalkeepers in the squad at the moment so I need to keep an eye on it.
“But we would not just bring anyone in. They need to be the right personality to fit into the squad.”
