    Martinez impressed by Stones intensity and distribution

    Roberto Martinez told Sky Sports Goals on Sunday presenters that he is hugely impressed with young defender John Stones and says that the distribution the youngster has is the best he has ever seen in a centre-back and that he has a real good footballing brain.

    19 year old Stones has been a revelation for Everton this season after filling in for Captain Phil Jagielka and the Everton manager is certainly a fan

    Martinez said: “Remember, John is only 19 and Saturday was probably only his ninth game as a centre-half.

    “At Barnsley he always played at right-back, but he’s got that knack of knowing where to be.

    “He’s got a really good defensive brain and fantastic defensive intensity – but then he’s got the best distribution I’ve seen in a centre-half.”
