Martinez could play Jelavic instead of Lukaku
Evertons Croatian forward Nikica Jelavic could be given the nod for the starting eleven against Norwich City on Saturday, ahead of leading scorer Romelu Lukaku. The Spaniard says that Jela has given him something to think about after his brace against Queens Park Rangers in the cup and some sub appearances before that.
“Nikica has given me a selection headache and rightly so,” Martinez told evertontv. “I don’t see just the Queens Park Rangers performance, I think with the way he’s been training and the way he came on against Stoke when he was so positive and so energetic, he’s obviously a real asset and someone who is having a good moment of form.
“That’s always good for the team and a good thing to be aware of.”
Jelavic hasn’t scored in the league this season and has been linked with moves to a host of clubs this transfer window including Queens Park Rangers, Hull City, Crystal Palace and Stoke City.
