Manchester City interested in James McCarthy?
Manchester City are reportedly interested in Everton midfielder James McCarthy but will only make a move for him if Tottenham Hotspur open the bidding.
The Daily Mirror are running with the story and say that if Spurs open the bidding at £20m then they will follow suit. City are looking to rebuild their midfield and have recently been knocked back in their chase of Aston Villas Fabien Delph.
McCarthy is rumoured to be unhappy at the lack of a new contract having been promised that he would be offered one on the back of a good season.
McCarthy waivered a lot of money to join Everton and was told if his form was good then he would get an improved contract and so far this hasn’t happened. Despite being very happy at the club, if this situation doesn’t resolve itself then he may find himself leaving.
Should James McCarthy get a new contract?
