Konoplyanka addresses transfer rumours
Yevhen Konoplyanka has spoken out on the rumours linking him with a move to either Roma, Everton or Tottenham Hotspur and says that he wants to see his contract out, but he will know what is happening in the next few days.
It was widely reported that the winger would prefer a move to the Premier League from Dnipro, turning down Roma, but the player has denied this.
“I know there was talk that there would be a medical soon, but that’s not true,” he told the Italian sports newspaper.
“I promised the President that I’d stay at Dnipro until the end of my contract. As I understand it, the two clubs have reached an agreement, but not with me.
“That’s why the deal hasn’t been completed.
“I like Roma, though, they’re a big European club. I’m convinced that in the next few days my future will be decided.”
His dad Oleg has gone against what his son said though telling ANSA that he would rather see out his contract at Dnipro then make a move to Italy.
“He probably won’t sign the contract with Roma,” he said. “What I can say is that Roma would really like him to sign it, but my son wants to stay at Dnipro until June and then leave.
“He wants to stay and I think he will very probably remain here until his contract expires.”
