Kone: Every minute I spend on the training pitch is a moment of joy

Arouna Kone has said that he has taken great pleasure out of being fit again and the Ivorian has said that every minute he spends on the training pitch is a moment of joy.

The striker has had an awful 13 months following a serious knee injury and although he isn’t 100% fit yet, he is working hard with the medical team to get fully fit.

“It is a big relief for me to be back,” Kone told evertontv. “It has been 13 months that I was out. I am now getting great pleasure out of playing again. I feel that it is a second chance for me. Every second I spend on the training pitch is a moment of joy.

“I am not fully 100 per cent match fit. I am back, but I am not in my full match form. It’s important that I manage my fitness properly and it’s something not to be rushed.

“Of course, it is a very important game. We will go out there with every intention of taking the three points. As a team we have all the qualities. We will have chances in the game and the important thing is to take chances when they come.

“We have to keep a cool head; within the camp the team spirit is always strong and we all work hard together. It is important that we all do the best we can and finish the season with a good climb up the league.”
