Fenerbahçe have rekindled interest in Everton defender John Heitinga following news that Toffees manager David Moyes will be joining Manchester United next season according to Turkish Football Website
The Yellow Canaries were linked with the Netherlands international last summer however, Moyes convinced Heitinga to stay at the club.
Heitinga could be heading for a summer move according to his agent, Rob Jansen who stated in January that his client would welcome a transfer.
Jansen said, “Heitinga is definitely not happy with what is happening at Everton and we don’t hide that, he is looking at a solution.
“When an appropriate situation arises for a transfer, we will certainly not ignore it.”
The 28-year-old central defender joined Everton for €6.8 million from Atletico Madrid in 2009. Heitinga has played 134 matches for the Toffees and has just one-year left on his contract.
Everton would still hope to bring in around £4m for Heitinga who is on a reported £60,000 a week.
Heitinga would join Netherlands international teammate and close friend Dirk Kuyt as well former Everton teammate Joseph Yobo should the move go ahead.
