John Stones and Everton praised by PFA for Charity Work
Evertons young defender John Stones has received massive praise from the professional footballers association for the sheer amount of charity and community work that he has done.
“John has thrown himself whole-heartedly into supporting Everton’s charity and community initiatives,’’ said the club. “He takes a genuine interest in everyone he meets.
“All through the season the club invites supporters who are ill or suffering difficult circumstances to Goodison Park every match-day. John always has time for the visitors and plays a big part in making sure they have a special day.”
Everton also noted how willingly Stones stepped in at the last minute when another player could not make an event.
Stones has worked with young offenders, helped a student radio station, coached wheelchair and autistic teams and took Easter eggs around Whiston Hospital children’s wards, amongst other deeds.

The Everton Forum has seen first hand the work that Everton Football Club do for the community. We messaged the club when one of our forum members little boys became ill and was inbetween being transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital from Alder Hey Childrens Hospital. The 4 year old lad needed a potential heart and lung transplant and after contacting the club they send signed player photo’s to the little boy and also a signed card for his parents. This act truly shows how GREAT the club is and all the members on the forum have praised the work the club does.
Everton were one of the most active of the 92 clubs as recorded in the PFA Community Player Engagement Evaluation
