Joel Robles happy with life at Everton
Everton reserve goalkeeper Joel Robles has said that he is happy with life on Merseyside and wants to stay at the club for a very long time.
The young understudy to Tim Howard has played a bit part at the club so far while learning his trade and says that he will fight Howard for the number one spot over the next few years.
“I am very happy at Everton and hopefully I’ll stay here for a long time,” the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper said.
“But I have the pain of not being able to stay at Atletico. I fulfilled the dream of playing in the first team but I couldn’t keep them in my life.
“I’m not going to leave Everton, even if I was given the chance. It’s a club with great potential and I think [the manager] will grow well in the coming years.
“Now my goal is to fight to play. We were excited about maybe entering the Champions League and we will play in the Europa League. It’s exciting.”
