Italian media reports Medel chase as boss says no

Everton were yesterday linked with a move for Chilean international and former Cardiff City player Gary Medel in Gazetta Dello Sport and the Liverpool Echo, before coach Roberto Martinez dismissed rumours.

The diminutive player can play in midfield or defence and as quickly as a tenuous link was made, it was rejected by Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini who said: “We won’t sell Gary Medel, but Yuto Nagatomo could leave,”

The 28 year old is only 5ft 8in tall but impressed at last summers World Cup and also in the Premier League for Cardiff City.

Everton are still being linked with a move for another Inter Milan player Xherdan Shaqiri.
