Howard: Goalies are paid to save and I need to start making more
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has said that he needs to make more saves, in the light of his match winning performance in goal for Everton against Southampton.
The United States goalie made a number of excellent saves as his side beat Southampton but says that his side deserved victory as they defended brilliantly.
He said: “Goalkeepers get paid to make saves and I need to start making some more.
“The second one [from Ward-Prowse] was moving all over the place. I just reacted and I’m happy we got a little bit of luck today, because we haven’t had much.
“The clean sheet was brilliant. We work our tails off and they haven’t been coming this season. But we continue to work hard and that’s three wins on the bounce now.
“They’re a good side Southampton, they really are. They’ve been playing fantastic football, winning games and they’ve been stingy defensively.
“They are where they are because they work hard and they’re a good unit, so we’re happy with that win today.”
