Has James McCarthy asked to leave Everton?
Fish and chip wrapper newspaper The Daily Star has run a story that Everton midfielder James McCarthy has told manager Roberto Martinez in a meeting that he would like to leave the club.
The report states that McCarthy is unhappy that his current contract has not been upgraded despite assurances by the club that it would be. Numerous other players including captain Phil Jagielka have received upgraded contracts, but McCarthy has been left wanting.
McCarthy still has 3 years left on his current contract and the club seem in no rush to sell him or offer a new contract so he could be left in limbo.
Do you believe that McCarthy has asked to leave the club?

This and the current rubbish being thrown about in reference to John Stones all seem to come from the fertile mind of Express reporter John Richardson. This inveterate Red has in the past sold every talent we have found, through the pages of his rag,in his imagination at least. He it was who slagged Baines off for homesickness which lost him a world cup spot. Wait and see would be my advice. If they go we will get good money for them both, but I seriously doubt that a tenth of what is in these chip wrappers is true.
