Gareth Barry and James McCarthy deals imminent

Pretty much all the major English news outlets are reporting that Gareth Barry is set to join Everton again in the next 48 hours.

His contract with Manchester City ends at the end of June and Barry will then choose where he plays next season.  He enjoyed a successful season with Everton at the heart of the Everton midfield alongside James McCarthy.

Reports are saying that Barry has agreed to a three year contract with the toffeemen with a fee of £2.5m being touted as the agreement in his original loan deal.

Everton are also set to reward McCarthy with a new contract after hitting the ground running this season. This would be hot on the heals of contracts offered to Seamus Coleman an Everton gaffer Roberto Martinez.
