Galloway: They might be champions but we are on the same pitch for a reason
Everton youngster Brendan Galloway says that his side fear no one and says that although they were playing the champions they were right to now show they respect.
The youngster showed that he doesn’t care about title, by going toe to toe with Diego Costa on a number of occasions and he says he wasn’t overwhelmed because he plays with top class internationals every day in training.
“We know what we can do and we don’t fear anyone, especially when they come to Goodison,” declared Galloway.
“They may have been the champions but we didn’t give them that respect.
“We shouldn’t give anyone any respect, especially in games at Goodison.
“We always know what we are capable of, we do it everyday in training, and we’ve started the season well.
“To carry that on into this match was really important and we did that.”
And on Naismith’s heroics, Galloway added: “He was unbelievable and to get a hat-trick against the champions is something special.
“We all performed and put in a shift but Naisy was extra special.”
“I don’t feel any pressure because I train with top class internationals everyday so when it comes to the match, it is not new,” he said.
“I don’t like to show anyone any respect. They might be the champions but we are on the same pitch for a reason.
“I’m still young and still learning and hopefully I can get to that next stage.
“I want to keep on working hard.
“I’m humble. I have good parents who keep me grounded, which is important to me, and my sisters and cousins do that as well.
“I know what I am achieving but I don’t want to get too ahead of myself because I want to keep on improving.”
“I don’t feel nervous,” Galloway added.
“I prepare myself well and listen to my music to calm my nerves.
“When it kicks-off it’s just a game and you focus on doing the best for your team.
“You forget everything else and who you are playing against.
“The manager and the staff help us with that as well.”
