Galloway: I want to play well and stay in the team
Everton youngster Brendan Galloway admits he has been frustrated by his recent injury after cementing a place in the first team, but he is now focussed on winning his place back.
The England under 21 international strained his patella against Manchester City but is hoping to be in contention against Chelsea at the weekend.
“I’ve been taking each game as it has come but it has been a good challenge to see where I’m at.
“Training and learning every day off the manager and senior pros, it’s all a learning curve and being able to go out and do it in a game when it does matter is even better. I’m just enjoying it.
“When you are in the team you want to play well to stay in but when injury hits you have got to bounce back. You’ve got to come back stronger.
“I’ve recovered well and we are just going to see how the next few days go. If I get selected I will be happy. I feel good now.”
The former MK Dons youngster added: “I strained my patellar tendon a little bit and I’m going through some growing pains now. It’s just an issue of looking after it correctly and in the Manchester City game I was just unfortunate that it went. I was gutted at that point.
“I never like being injured – it’s been a tough couple of weeks, especially missing the England Under-21s trip, but now I’m back focused and [I’m hoping to be ready] for Saturday.”
