Young goalkeeper Thomas Hagelskjær has just completed a short spell with Everton after his Danish club AGF Aarhus agreed to let the Premier League team have a look at him ahead of a possible move.
Thomas Hagelskjær has since arrived back in Denmark and immediately done an interview with his club’s website in which he waxes lyrical about Everton football club and his time there. The 18 year old said “It was a little overwhelming. I did not expect that already on the first day of practice I’d be with players like Phil Neville and Fellaini. Actually I had beforehand thought that it would not affect me, but I must admit I was a little affected by it.
“It was crazy. They have twelve grass pitches, which stand straight and are constantly nurtured and cared for by eight full-time gardeners. The clubhouse is also really nice, and in general the situation is amazing.
“It has been a very positive experience. Were taken good care of me throughout the week, and everyone was very helpful and accommodating. The training was at an extremely high level and has certainly given me a lot.”
The young Dane got to see all the goalkeepers at the club from the youth team to the senior squad and he thinks he measures up well to those in comparable age groups “It was great to be able to measure both the Premier League players and their U21 and U19 team. Their goalies my age are also talented, but I do not think they’re better than me.”
The trial itself went well and he reckons that Everton were impressed with what they saw and will continue to keep an eye between now and the summer “Both Chris Woods and their scout Bryan King was well pleased with me… and they said they will follow me in the spring.”
It’s not known if the club will now purchase some new lawnmowers using the transfer budget
