Everton to be involved in International Champions Cup with top European Clubs?

Everton could be involved in a tournament called the ‘International Champions Cup’, with clubs Real Madrid, Juventus, LA Galaxy, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Benfica and Chelsea.

The tournament would be part of Everton’s pre-season, and would be held across seven different cities in America. Confirmed cities are  Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, New York and Indianapolis.  There would be two groups of four, although it is unsure how many teams would proceed from group stages. It would begin on the July the 27th, ending on August the 7th.

Only 4 clubs are officially confirmed so far (Real Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan, LA Galaxy). So where have the other clubs come from? Well, when taking out a source code on the International Champions Cup homepage, it comes up with the four other clubs aforementioned (Chelsea, Everton, Benfica, AC Milan). See code below:

    1. It’s as ridiculous as the so-called “Champions” League.
Where did they get that name from ? How can they allow teams into it who are not champions of their own country and/or have never been chanpions of their own country during all of the years that the so-called “Champions” League has been in existence ?
Maybe they should call it the UEFA Pets League or the SKY/TV Income League or simply just the Corrupt Cup.

      • Actually the teams mentioned have all been champions at some point. Maybe not the champions league era but they still all have the history. Why all the hatred for a pre season tournement? What does it have to do with the champions league anyway? nothing. Why do you even care? I bet your just a sad bitter that is jealous your team is not on the list

    2. I personally would love us to be involved in such a tournament against “proper” opposition which would raise our profile (we need to improve and expand it a lot!)
It’s all well and good playing local games against the likes of Bury and Preston but who, apart from ourselves see it or read about it?
No, we need to be playing against the big boys and if we take a bit of a beating – so be it – it’s for the greater good.
PS – It’s more exciting too knowing your team is playing against these kind of teams! I hope it happens

    3. Undeniably consider that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be at the internet the simplest factor to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed whilst folks consider concerns that they just don’t realize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also outlined out the whole thing without having side effect , other people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thanks
