Everton are being linked with an audacious takeover by soft drinks firm Red Bull according to the Mirror
Redbull currently own 2 franchises already in New York and Salzburg and are looking to make a move on the English market.
According to Alan Nixon, (who wrote the report) an “insider” said, “Red Bull want a team to take into the Champions League. It is the only market they have not reached yet. Ideally this would be in the London area, but both Everton and Liverpool interest them too because it would not take much to get them to that level.
“They have looked at the Championship, but you can spend fortunes there and not make any progress.”
The moves are apparently being fronted by Ralf Rangnick, who was linked with the Everton managers job in the summer.
It is thought any move for Everton could prove difficult as they would look to change the name and there would be problems over the word Red if it was to be associated with Everton.
