More Everton players set to leave the club
Everton academy coach David Unsworth has said that more of his academy players are set to leave the club on loan to help gain first team experience of competitive football.
Rhino says that a number of teams have enquired about his players and that they are looking to get the majority of the players out on loan over the next couple of months.
“Without a shadow of doubt – we will certainly look to get the majority out at some point if we think that is what we need. If we don’t think that is what they need, they will stay here and learn their trade.
“We’ve already had numerous clubs come in for our players and Joe [Royle] has been brought in to deal with that side of things. We work very closely together and if we think there is a window of opportunity for a player to go out on loan to a club that will benefit him, we will do that.
“At the end of the day, these are our players and it has to be to the advantage of them.”
“There are already three lads from our group out on loan and they’re all doing well and playing, which is fantastic for them.
“We all go out and watch the games and players. It’s something I love doing because it’s good to see the boys playing in that environment.
“From past experience, when you have a boy make his debut you are sometimes a bit nervous but every time I have watched one of our players go out on loan or make their debut for our club, I’m actually quite relaxed because I know their qualities and temperament is right.
“Some of them are ready, some of them need a bit longer and each player is treated as an individual in that respect. We certainly give them enough time and an opportunity – and that’s what every player wants.”
