    Everton make Spain under 21 international enquiry

    Everton have made an enquiry for Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder according to the Daily Star.

    The Spain under 21 international is wanted at Everton according to the report, despite normally playing in a more defensive midfield role.

    Darder is quite highly rated in Spain and was close to a move to Lyon before the transfer collapsed.  Aston Villa have been linked in the past and were looking to make a move to replace Fabien Delph.

    Any link is strange however as Roberto Martinez has stated he needs a striker, a number 10 and a central defender.
