Everton look to land out of favour England Striker
David Moyes has been sitting down with the board this week to thrash out talks on next seasons transfer targets and budgets and Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is high on the list in a cut price deal of £5m.
England stiker Bent, 29, has been largely unused this season having played in only 22 games and this is tempting Everton into a move. He was a club record signing for Villa having signed for a fee of £24m from Sunderland.
Bent is looking to move after finding opportunities hard to find under current Villains boss, Paul Lambert and the former Spurs striker is looking to rekindle his England career before next summers World Cup in Brazil.
Moyes has been installed as the bookies favourites to join Manchester United, but he has also been locked in talks with the Everton board to gauge the kind of budget he would have was he to commit. Moyes is deperate to push Everton to the next level having seen Everton just miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Everton manager would be looking to pair Bent with Alfredo Negredo, who is also on his list with Nikica Jelavic likely to join West Ham.
