Everton interested in Jay Rodriguez

Everton are interested in Southampton striker Jay Rodriquez according to dodgy sports new website Sports Direct News.

The 24 year old England international has been improving rapidly the last couple of seasons and is in a rich vein of form having scored 11 goals in 26 games in all competitions.

Rodriguez joined Southampton from Burnley and has never looked back.  He is one of a number of young English talents at the South Coast club.

Everton are in the hunt for a new striker after the sale of Nikica Jelavic to Hull City and are in advanced talks with AS Monaco over the loan transfer of Lacina Traore although reports of the deal stalling due to the injury to Radamel Falcao seem to be wide of the mark.

Roberto Martinez has already said that if Traore signs in a the club then it will probably be his last bit of business.
