    Everton interested in England Under 19 player Joe Gomez

    Everton are looking to build for the future with the capture of Charlton Athletic youngster Joe Gomez.

    The 17 year old England under 19 player has risen to prominence since impressing at the Under 17 European Championships with England, who eventually ended up as tournament winners.

    It is thought that Everton manager Roberto Martinez is looking to build a young squad and would like to add Gomez to John Stones and Brendan Galloway in a defensive three.

    Gomez has also been linked to Newcastle United, Chelsea and Arsenal and he made his first team debut earlier this month in the 4-0 carling cup win at home to Colchester.

    The youngster is seen as one of the games brightest prospects for a new batch of English youngsters coming through.
