Everton enter partnership with Australian A-League team
Everton have signed a partnership agreement with Australian Hyundai A-League team Central Coast Mariners that will allow the clubs under 21 players to have first team football down under.
The deal has been worked on by Joe Royle who heads up the transistion of academy players to the first team and Peter Storrie who is the new associate director at the Mariners.
While non-exclusive and exploratory, this could allow Under-21 Development players to experience first team football on loan with the Mariners during the summer months
“We have a long association with Australian players here at Everton – as far back as the 1960s I played with Dennis Yaager in the youth team – and all Evertonians will remember the contribution Tim Cahill made to the Club. So we believe this is something with the potential to benefit the Club,” Royle said.
