Everton enquire over Winston Reid signing

Everton have spoken to West Ham United over the possibility of signing Winston Reid according to Sky Sports News reporter Alan Irwin on the transfer deadline day show.

Reports earlier in the day suggested that it would be Sylvain Distin who would be joining the Hammers but on a live broadcast Irwin confirmed that Everton had enquired over the availability of Reid.

Reid has been linked to a number of clubs in this window including Spurs and Liverpool and is out of contract in the summer.

Although a deal before the summer is unlikely, West Ham may want to cash in on the New Zealander rather than lose him for free.
