Everton close to signing Scouse defender
Everton are looking towards the signing of Crystal Palace player of the year, Scott Dann according to a report in the Daily Mirror.
The report says that the club are close to signing the defender who was born in Liverpool after the management team identified Dann as a player that would fit into the team.
28 year old self-confessed Liverpool fan Dann played 34 times in the Premier League last season, scored 2 goals and had 3 assists. He played a further 3 times in the FA Cup scoring another 2 goals.
Dann is the club captain at Palace and has another 2 years remaining on his current contract.
Would Scott Dann be a good signing?

I would take this story with a large pinch of salt as I would suggest that it is impossible to be close to signing a player when there have been absolutely no negotiations between the clubs, as the report states, and Palace are pretty unlikely to sell their player of the year who still has two years on his contract. The level of research is also clear as Scott Dann is not and never has been club captain at Selhurst – that job has been done by Mile Jedinak and Damien Delaney, with Dann stepping in for one match (against Liverpool) when the other two were rested.
He would be an excellent signing, but then so would Lionel Messi be!
Ooooh we don’t research Peter!!!! Not got time for that! We just try and collate all the paper stories into one place!;)
why would he go to everton he supported liverpool as a kid growing up can’t see him going unless liverpool his boyhood team where after him
Half of the Liverpool team over the last 20 years have been Everton fans. Doubt it would stop him!
