EVERTON have become the latest club to stake an interest in Manchester City’s Abdisalam Ibrahim according to the Express
The highly-rated 22-year-old midfielder has been chased by a cluster of Premier League clubs following a scouting mission- Arsenal, Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Aston Villa.
Only last month My Everton News ran the story that Everton were interested in his signature.
Although he is currently on-loan at Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset, Ibrahim has been likened to Citizens powerhouse Yaya Toure.
As things currently stand, the Gunners appear to be the frontrunners for his signature. QPR and Celtic have also been credited with an interest in him.
Ibrahim is currently on international duty with Norway at the U-21 European Championships which is being staged in Israel.
What would you make to this signing? Have your say at www.theevertonforum.com
Can I make a suggestion for everyone to take a look at Man City’s on loan striker John Guidetti, who is 22 years old, 6ft 1″ and has just scored an impressive 28 goals in 23 games for Feyenord in a decent Dutch League. He is a massive name for right now and the future and at roughly £8m, an absolute steal and just what our club need. He is strong and reminds me a little of a young Bergkamp.
He also just spent a year in the reserves, is on 90k a week and just signed a 4 year deal. Before he signed it last year I would have said perfect, but unless he is willing to take lower wages, I just cant see it happening.
Excellent suggestion Stew. Guidetti is a major talent but I`m not sure if he`s going to be available, especially for £8mil. If he is though he would be an excellent signing, worth much more.
Good shout Stew, Guidetti sounds ideal, but his wages could be an issue! My turn what about Jelle Vossen? Linked with us for ages a season ago, scored loads in Belgium available for about £6M!! Be ideal partner for Jelavic!
