    Big Dunc to get testimonial against Villarreal

    Everton legend Duncan Ferguson will be granted a testimonial match before the start of the season and it looks likely to be against Spanish side Villarreal.

    The Spaniards were the team that offers Ferguson the most heartache with his header unfairly ruled out during a champions league qualifier in 2005.

    Ferguson, who is now a first team coach at Everton, started life on loan from Glasgow Rangers and quickly established himself as a fans favourite before being sold to Newcastle United for £8m in 1998.  He returned to the club in 2000 and played until 2006 before retiring.  He joined the coaching staff in 2012 and quickly progressed to become a first team coach.
