Benfica to beat Everton and Spurs for Porto winger

Benfica are ready to trump a string of Premier League clubs in the hunt for Christian Atsu.

Everton are monitoring the Porto wideman, while Tottenham have also expressed an interest.

Everton’s interest is firm, although David Moyes’ imminent departure means a move could be off. Andre Villas-Boas managed Atsu during his time at Porto and is said to be keen on a reunion.

Benfica are now firmly in the running for the 21-year-old Ghanaian, whose contract expires in 2014.

  1. Highly unlikely to go Benfica, they are the 2 biggest rivals in the portuguese league. So they are not ‘firmly in the run in.’ As well as Porto are likely to win the league over Benfica, where Porto have go unbeaten so far.

    If AVB wants him, he would most likely go Spurs. Otherwise he would stay at Porto.
