Aston Villa manager confirms Gueye to join Everton

Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo confirmed at his press conference on Friday afternoon that he expects Idrissa Gueye to join Everton after they activated his release clause.

Speaking to the assembled media the Italian confirmed that he expects the Senegal international to leave Villa Park shortly.

The 26 year old only joined Villa last summer, but has been snapped up quickly by new Everton head of recruitment Steve Walsh.  It is understood that Gueye underwent an Everton medical yesterday.
