Stones nominated for Golden Boy European Footballer Award

Everton youngster John Stones has been nominated for the European Golden Boy Footballer award for 2014.  The award, started in 2003, is decided by football journalists from across Europe, with the panel featuring representatives from Bild, De Telegraaf, l’Equipe, Marca and The Times.

The Barnsley born defender is nominated alongside 30 other youngsters from across Europe including 9 from the Premier League.  Also nominated is former Everton loan star Gerard Deulofeu and Eric Dier who played for Everton on a youth loan a number of years ago.

The winner is set to be announced in December.
