Martinez: Cleverley has shown he can be a leader

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has once again praised new signing Tom Cleverley and said that the England international has proved that he can be a leader in his short time at the club.

Martinez believes that Cleverley has been a really good fit with the dressing room and says that he sets a fantastic example to the younger players.

He told the official Everton website “It is that combination of having good youth and experience. Tom showed he can be a leader.

“He has fitted in really well in the dressing room and and it is a fantastic example for any youngster to look up to an England international with his best years ahead of him.

“He was terrific in his attitude and with his involvement in the game and that’s an exciting prospect for the future for us.”
