Eto’o set to join Sampdoria?

Everton striker and Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto’o is being linked with a return to Italy with Sampdoria interested in signing the player according to Di Marzio and ForzaItalianFootball.com

Sampdoria have recently sold Manolo Gabbiadini and are looking for a striker to fill the void.  Di Marzio says that Eto’o wants to listen to offers even though they are unwilling to match the strikers wages at Everton.

According to calciomercato.com, Eto’o is interested in the opportunity to play for the Genoa based club and is willing to reduce his yearly salary of €3 million to help complete the deal.

Eto’o only signed in the summer and had been used mainly as a sub or in a midfield role and has often cut a frustrated player as Everton manager Roberto Martinez shuffles his team about.
