Ross Barkley transfer would break British record

Ross Barkley would cost Manchester City a British Record of £60m if they were to get close to signing Ross Barkley according to the Manchester Evening News.

The 22 year old midfielder has been integral to how Everton have played on the pitch and Roberto Martinez turned down a bid out of hand last summer according to the report.

Everton will want to keep hold of their prized asset, but the Manchester Billionaires like spending money and the fee is unlikely to deter them from a bid for Barkley.

Barkley is set to play for England this weekend over the international break in his first international matches since the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.
