Robbie Keane: Moving to Everton would be good for McGeady

Irish legend Robbie Keane has come out in support of his international teammate Aiden McGeady and says a move to Everton would be brilliant for his career.  All-time Republic of Ireland leading scorer Keane says that the wealth of Irish talent at Everton would help his mate settle in.  Everton have James McCarthy, Seamus Coleman, Darron Gibson and Shane Duffy from the Irish set-up within their first team squad.

“I think he’s certainly looking to get back after the problems he’s had with the coach there,” said Keane, referring to McGeady’s well-publicised falling out with Spartak manager Valery Karpin. “I think he wants it himself, probably for the last year. I know him quite well and I know that it’s something that he’s wanted to do.

“I think if he goes there (to Everton) it would be a good club for him. I think with the other lads that are there, the Irish lads, it would be a good fit for him. They’ve a good manager, they’re a good club to play for, with a good tradition, a very stable club, so I think that would probably be the right move.”
